Taiwan offers tax “rewards” for businesses filing account documents electronically

Profit-seeking enterprises in the Republic of China (Taiwan) can receive “rewards” for providing all account books and documents electronically using the internet or multimedia, according to a May 6 announcement from the R.O.C. National Taxation Bureau of the Central Area.

The rewards include the designation of a professional advisor to provide the enterprise with tax assistance or guidance. Other rewards include not needing a certificate for verification, except for abnormal reports, and being able to have tax returns reviewed on paper for the two following years, provided certain conditions are met.

In addition, tax agents, accountants, and preparers who provide the account books and documents electronically “quickly and correctly” can be included in a list of recommended tax agents.
