Switzerland, Ireland sign protocol amending tax treaty

Switzerland and Ireland today signed a protocol to their tax treaty adding an antiabuse clause and providing for arbitration of tax disputes.

With the antiabuse clause, the two countries will implement minimum standards for double taxation agreements set in the 2015 OECD/G20 base erosion profit shifting plan agreements.

The new Switzerland-Ireland tax treaty protocol is not yet in force.
