Malaysia gives more tax perks to MNEs that establish headquarters there

Malaysia’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry, on October 6, announced enhancements to its headquarters hub tax incentive.

Beginning in 2019, companies taking advantage of Malaysia’s existing hub tax concessions will pay tax at a 10 percent rate. New applicants will pay as little as zero tax, depending on the multinational’s level of commitment, the government said.

The ministry said that 35 multinationals have established principal hubs in Malaysia that qualify for the hub tax incentives since the program was introduced in 2015.
