Former OECD international tax and transfer pricing official joins Squire Patton Boggs

Jefferson P. VanderWolk has joined Squire Patton Boggs as a partner in the Tax Strategy & Benefits Practice in the Washington DC office, the firm has announced.

VanderWolk is former Head of the Tax Treaty, Transfer Pricing and Financial Transactions Division at the OECD Centre for Tax Policy and Administration, where he served for two years. While at the OECD, VanderWolk was responsible for the BEPS multilateral instrument and oversaw updates to the OECD model tax convention and the OECD transfer pricing guidelines.

Prior to his work at the OECD, VanderWolk was a partner with EY. He has also been a partner at Baker & McKenzie and Deloitte, a director at Merrill Lynch, Special Counsel at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, and International Tax Counsel to the US Senate Committee on Finance.

VanderWolk has also held several university positions. He has taught at the University of Hong Kong, Faculty of Law; Oxford University; London School of Economics; Washington College of Law at American University; and the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies at the University of London. He was a professor of tax law at the Chinese University of Hong Kong from 2009 to 2011.
