Dominica removed from the EU tax blacklist

The Council of the EU on June 14 removed Dominica from the EU list of non-cooperative jurisdictions for tax purposes.

In a press release, the Council of the EU said that concerns Dominica’s lack of automatic exchange of financial information prompted the EU to blacklist the country. These concerns were addressed when Dominica ratified the OECD multilateral convention on mutual administrative assistance, the press release said.

As a result, 11 jurisdictions remain on the EU list of non-cooperative jurisdictions for tax purposes: American Samoa, Belize, Fiji, Guam, Marshall Islands, Oman, Samoa, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates, US Virgin Islands, and Vanuatu.

The Council will continue to regularly review and update the list in 2019 and will begin bi-annual reviews in 2020.
