The UN Subcommittee on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), on July 8, extended the deadline for developing countries to respond to a questionnaire on BEPS.
The subcommittee, established by the UN Committee of Experts on International Cooperation in Tax Matters, developed the questionnaire early 2014 to assist the committee in determining priories for engaging with the OECD on BEPS issues and to develop UN initiatives to tackle BEPS.
Although the original deadline to respond to the questionnaire was May 2, the committee says it is still interested in receiving country responses. It also says that countries can request that submissions not be made public.
So far, the UN has received feedback from Mexico, Singapore, Brazil, and NGOs, which it has published on its website. One other country submission was not released publicly. Press release (PDF 16KB), Questionnaire (PDF 16KB), UN website
