New and updated FATCA registration system frequently asked questions (FAQs) and FFI list FAQs have been posted to the FATCA Website.
Changes to the registration system FAQs are as as follows:
Q: What is the maximum number of points of contact allowed on the Registration?
A: The Responsible Officer for the FI identified in Question 10 of the Registration form is the FI’s point of contact. In addition, the RO may identify five (5) additional points of contact in Question 11 of the Registration form for a total of up to six (6) points of contact.
Q: What information will be in the notification e-mail the responsible officer (RO) receives?
A: The notification e-mail will include a generic message to the RO to check their FATCA message board. This email will include the last several characters of the FATCA ID so that RO can identify which FATCA account is being referred to.
Q: Why is the RO not receiving FATCA notification emails regarding the FI’s status and account updates?
A: If the RO is not receiving notification emails, please verify that the RO’s email address entered in Question 10 of the Registration is correct. Additionally, to ensure notification emails are not sent to a Spam or Junk Mail folder, [email protected] should be added to the RO’s email contact list.
Changes to the FFI list FAQs are as follows:
Q: Why is an FI not in the downloaded FFI List in CSV format, while it appears in the search results?
A: Depending on the number of records contained in the FFI List you downloaded, some CSV compatible spreadsheet and database applications may only display a maximum number of records. If the FI’s location on the list is beyond the maximum limit, you might not see the FI on the list. You can try to use another spreadsheet and database application or text editor to open the CSV file.
