Mauritius signs MLI to combat multinational tax avoidance

As expected, Mauritius today signed the the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (the MLI).

If ratified, the MLI will affect 23 Mauritius tax treaties. The treaties and Mauritius’ reservations are listed on the OECD website.

The MLI was signed in OECD headquarters in Paris by Mahess Rawoteea of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of Mauritius.

Mauritius also reaffirmed that it will implement the minimum standards outlined in the OECD/G20 base erosion profit shifting plan by 2018.
