Japan-Spain tax treaty to enter into force in May

Japan and Spain recently completed the necessary steps for a new tax treaty to enter into force this spring.

On February 12, mutual notifications were completed that are necessary for the treaty to enter into force on May 1.

The treaty will cover taxable years beginning January 1, 2022.

The treaty was signed on October 16, 2018.
