Former US House Ways & Means Chairman Dave Camp joins PwC

Former US House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) has joined PwC as a senior policy advisor in its Washington National Tax Services practice, the firm announced March 12.

Camp will focus on economic, tax, international trade, and health care policy issues at PwC.

Camp chaired the US House Ways and Means Committee for four years, where he introduced the Tax Reform Act of 2014, a comprehensive tax reform plan that includes major reforms the US international tax system. He retired from Congress earlier this year.

Camp was also a Joint Committee on Taxation member for six years, serving as Chairman in 2011 and 2013 and as Vice Chairman in 2012 and 2014.

“Dave Camp is a luminary in his field, and we are honored that he has chosen to join PwC,” said Bob Moritz, chairman and senior partner of PwC US.

“His vision regarding the critical need for tax reform as the catalyst for US competitiveness has paved the way for the changes our economy needs over the next few years,” Moritz said.

Mark Mendola, vice-chairman and tax leader of PwC US, said that Camp’s “willingness to take on the herculean task of developing the most comprehensive tax reform proposal since the mid-1980s is testament to his ability to do what others considered impossible.”
