The European Commission on September 28 published its annual overview of recent tax reforms in the Member States.
The paper, The Tax Reforms Report 2015, prepared by the Commission’s Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs and the Directorate General for Taxation and Customs, discusses Member State performance in major areas of tax policy during mid-2014 through mid- 2015.
A wide range of topics are covered, including progress made in EU countries on eliminating the preferential treatment of debt in corporate income taxation, on reducing tax burdens on labor, on broadening the tax base, and on improving VAT systems.
