China-Chile tax treaty enters into force

A tax treaty between China and Chile, signed May 25, 2015, has entered into force, according to an announcement on China’s State Administration of Taxation’s (SAT) website.

The tax treaty entered into force on January 1, 2017, and became effective on August 8, the SAT said.

The agreement is designed to reduce tax burdens for cross-border investors of both countries and includes a tax dispute settlement mechanism.
