Cameroon signs MLI to tackle tax avoidance by multinational enterprises

Cameroon’s Minister of Finance, Alamine Ousmane Mey, today signed the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (the MLI).

Cameroon is the 70th nation to sign on to the agreement, which is designed to allow counties to swiftly incorporate tax treaty related changes recommended in the OECD/G20 base erosion profit shifting project (BEPS) into their existing tax treaties.

The tax treaties affected and Cameroon’s reservations are listed on the OECD website.
