Hong Kong and Germany complete second round of tax treaty negotiations

Hong Kong and Germany completed their second round of tax treaty negotiations on March 6, according to Hong Kong’s Inland Revenue Department.

This would be the first comprehensive double tax treaty between the nations. The countries signed an air services income agreement in 1997 and a shipping income agreement in 2003. Both of these more limited tax treaties became effective for the 1998-1999 tax years.
