Maria José Garde has been appointed as the new chair of the OECD’s Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes and Huey Min Chia-Tern has taken over as chair of the Peer Review Group, the OECD has announced.
Garde, who is Deputy Director General for International Taxation at the Spanish Ministry of Finance, will take up her duties on January 1, 2017. She will replace Kosie Louw, from South Africa.
Global Forum members also appointed Singapore Assistant Commissioner Huey Min Chia-Tern as the new Chair of the Peer Review Group, which monitors implementation of the standards of transparency and exchange of information for tax purposes.
She began work in her new role during the Peer Review Group meeting in Oslo held June 20-23.
