The South African Revenue Service (SARS) today announced it will revive its large business unit. The Illicit Economy Team will also be restored, SARS said in a statement.
The decision to revive the two units was made by the Acting Commissioner and the SARS Executive Committee.
SARS said that each played a pivotal role in enabling effective and efficient service to large corporate taxpayers and fighting illicit trade in the country.
The process of reviving the large business unit has been tasked to Chief Officer for Governance, International Relations, Strategy and Communications, Mr. Hlengani Mathebula.
