Singapore-Luxembourg tax treaty enters into force

The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore has announced that the Luxembourg-Singapore tax treaty, signed October 9, 2013, entered into force on December 28.

The treaty replaces a 1993 treaty, lowering withholding tax on dividends, interest, and royalties and extending the period for determining construction and services permanent establishments.

The treaty also revises the treatment of international air transport and shipping income.
