Revised Singapore-Thailand tax treaty lowers withholding tax rates

Singapore and Thailand signed a new tax treaty June 11, agreeing to lower the withholding tax rates for dividends, interest, and royalties.

The agreement, which would replace an existing treaty signed September 1975, also lengthens the threshold period for determining the presence of a permanent establishment.

The agreement will enter into force after its ratification by both countries.
