OECD publishes MAP statistics of member countries

The OECD on November 25 released 2013 statistics on the mutual agreement procedure (MAP) caseload of OECD member counties and partner economies of Argentina, China, Latvia, and South Africa.

According to an accompanying OECD release, the statistics show that “considered in the aggregate, MAP inventories in OECD member countries at the end of these reporting periods show a continuous increase from 2006 to 2013, with a slight decrease in 2010.”

The statistics also showed a decreased average cycle time in 2013 for cases completed, closed, or withdrawn as compared to 2012, for those countries reporting the data, the OECD said.

The US had the most new MAP cases of OECD countries in 2013, with 403 new cases. The country with the largest caseload at the end of the reporting period was Germany, with 858 disputes in inventory.
