The Netherlands goverment supports expanding public release of country-by-country data beyond the extractive and banking industries to all companies, Eric Weibes, State Secretary of Finance said in a May 28 letter to the European Commission.
The European Commission announced March 18 that it is examining the feasibility of new transparency requirements for EU companies, including the possibility of public release of country-by-country reporting data by all multinationals.
Weibes requested that the Commission give priority to the impact assessment, and to deliver the results of the assessment preferably before 2018.
