Luxembourg and Kosovo officials on December 8 signed a new tax treaty designed to eliminate double taxation and prevent fraud and evasion.
The agreement provides for exchange of information on request and adheres to minimum standards set for tax treaties in the 2015 OECD/G20 base erosion profit shifting (BEPS) plan agreements, the Luxembourg government said.
The agreement was signed in Luxembourg by Kosovo Minister of Finance of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza and Luxembourg Minister of Finance, Pierre Gramegna. It is not yet in force as it must be ratified by the two governments.
