Jose E. Murillo named US Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Tax Affairs

The US Treasury Department announced today that Jose E. Murillo has been appointed the new Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Tax Affairs.

Murillo earlier served at the Treasury Department in the Office of the International Tax Counsel during the Bush-Cheney and Obama-Biden Administrations.

Most recently, he’s been a partner at Ernst & Young LLP.  He was the Director of EY’s International Tax and Transaction Services practice in Washington, DC, where he advised many of EY’s largest clients on various US international tax matters.

Murillo holds a BBA in Accounting and an MPA in Taxation from The University of Texas at Austin.  He was born in Mexico and raised in Texas.
