Japan, Switzerland to negotiate tax treaty amendments

Japan’s Ministry of Finance today announced that the government of Japan and the Swiss Federal Council will commence negotiations to amend the Japan-Switzerland tax treaty. No information was provided regarding what aspects of the tax treaty will be discussed. 

The discussions will begin on December 16.

The Japan-Switzerland tax treaty entered into force in 1971 and was partly amended in 2011.
