As such, the Japan-Jamacia tax treaty, signed December 12, 2019, will enter into force on September 16, 2020, the Japanese government said.

Most of the treaty provisions will take effect on January 1, 2021, though exchange of information and collection of tax provisions will become effective on September 16.
