Ireland, Malta agree to halt ‘single malt’ tax avoidance scheme once MLI ratified

Irish Minister for Finance and Public Expenditure and Reform, Paschal Donohoe announced Tuesday that an agreement has been reached with Maltese tax officials to shut down an aggressive tax planning opportunity known as the ‘Single Malt.”

This sort of planning will end once Ireland and Malta ratify the BEPS multilateral convention, the minister said.

MNE Tax will be publishing an in-depth look at this new development shortly.
