Honduras has joined the “Inclusive Framework on BEPS” becoming the group’s 136th member, the OECD today announced.
By joining, Honduras has pledged to adopt minimum taxation standards agreed to by OECD and G20 countries in 2015. These standards aim to curtail tax avoidance by multinational groups and aid in the resolution of cross-border tax disputes involving multinationals.
Honduras will also now be permitted to participate in a project to revise the international tax rules affecting large multinational groups, in particular, large tech companies.
