Grant Thornton expands in Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, St. Maarten

Grant Thornton has announced it has added offices in Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, and St. Maarten as, effective August 1, it is has taken over a PwC firm.

The expansion adds to Grant Thornton’s already considerable presence in the region: before the expansion, the firm had 13 locations in the Caribbean, the firm said.

Grant Thornton in the Dutch Caribbean will be led by Steve Vanenburg, who had been with PwC for more than 24 years.

“We are excited to become a member of the Grant Thornton organization, which provides the perfect platform from which to achieve our growth ambitions. We are leaders in our local markets, but we understand the importance of having a strong global brand to help us keep it that way. We are very enthusiastic about the opportunity this will provide our people, our clients, and the organization,” said Vanenburg.

Other members of senior leadership include Edsel Lopez and Hans Ruiter, who are partners in, Aruba; and  Herbert Beldman and Paul van Vliet, who are partners in St. Maarten.
