Chris Ball, Adele Townsend, and eight other tax specialists left Pitcher Partners to join BDO’s tax team in Brisbane on February 2, BDO has announced.
Ball and Townsend join BDO as tax partners, bringing the total number of BDO national tax partners to 30. The firm also recently hired Mark Pizzacalla, formerly with Australia’s Board of Taxation; Jason de Boer, formerly of Deloitte Melbourne; and Vanessa Priest.
BDO’s National Chairman, Helen Argiris, said the hiring was “a proactive move driven by the current and future needs of clients.” BDO’s clients will likely have additional challenges as a result of Australia’s increased focus on tax reform as well as OECD and G-20 global tax proposals, Argiris said.
Prior to their work at Pitcher Partners, Ball was with EY and Townsend was with Deloitte.
