Russo, based in Amsterdam, was previously was leader of Baker Mckenzie’s Europe, the Middle East, and Africa practice.
Russo has more than 20 years of experience in tax planning, structuring, and restructuring and has performed transfer pricing studies for clients in numerous industries.
“It is a privilege to take on this role from Simone, who has done an outstanding job,” Russo said. “We already have a great platform, which Baker McKenzie has developed over 70 years. We have great ambitions and intend to further strengthen our practice. We need to be ready to anticipate the changing needs of our clients as they navigate this fast-evolving global tax environment. This requires experience, bench strength and a deep understanding of the practical impact of new policies and rules on multinational companies and international investors,” he said.
Baker McKenzie is comprised of more than 1000 tax lawyers, economists and adviser in over 40 countries.
