Amanda Varma promoted to tax partner at Steptoe

Steptoe & Johnson, on January 4, announced that tax attorney Amanda Varma has been been promoted to partner.

Varma, based in Steptoe’s Washington DC office, specializes in international tax planning, including cross-border restructuring, acquisitions, and financing; tax treaty matters; tax deferral; and withholding and reporting issues.

Varma also focuses her practice on tax controversy matters, assisting clients with IRS examinations and appeals and competent authority proceedings, as well as trial court and appellate litigation. In addition, she advises clients on tax policy matters.
