Mark Mazur, Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy at the Department of the US Treasury, has been appointed as director of the Tax Policy Center (TPC), according to a December 13 TPC announcement.
Mazur will take over on February 1, 2017, replacing Leonard E. Burman, who held the post since June 2013. Burman will remain at the Urban Institute as an Institute Fellow.
The TPC is a Washington, DC think tank which was formed through a joint venture of the Urban Institute and Brookings Institution.
