David Kautter was unanimously confirmed as US assistant secretary for tax policy at Treasury in voice vote on August 3.
Kautter, a partner and leader of RSM’s Washington National Tax group, is former Managing Director at American University’s Kogod Tax Center. Before that, he served as Ernst & Young’s Director of National Tax.
Kautter is expected to play an important role in the current push to overhaul the US tax system. He was nominated for the post by President Trump on May 10.
