UN Committee of Experts adds new members from Philippines, Qatar, and China

The UN Economic and Social Council on October 7 announced the appointment of three new members to the Committee of Experts on International Cooperation in Tax Matters: Kim S. Jacinto-Henares (Philippines), Nasser Mohammed Al Khalifa (Qatar), and Xiaoyue Wang (China).

The new appointees take the place of Satit Rungkasiri (Thailand), Khalid Abdulrahman Almuftah (Qatar), and Tizhong Liao (China), who had resigned. The new appointees will serve until June 30, 2017.

The Committee is responsible for UN work on base erosion and profit shifting, as well as updating the UN Model Double Taxation Convention between Developed and Developing Countries, the UN Transfer Pricing Manual for Developing Countries, and the Manual for the Negotiation of Bilateral Tax Treaties between Developed and Developing Countries.
