Stack provides update of US position on BEPS

The Rascon CPA Firm has provided a report of October 3 comments made by Robert Stack, Treasury deputy assistant secretary (International Tax Affairs) concerning the OECD’s base erosion profit shifting project. Stack spoke at a luncheon hosted by Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC in Washington, D.C.

Stack again promoted the idea of linking access to country-by-country data to a country’s commitment to improve tax administration, mutual agreement procedure, and arbitration, though he acknowledged the US may not have leverage in the area.

India has said it has “major concerns” with the introduction of binding arbitration.
