The European Commission, in a June 5 announcement, has requested applications from value added tax (VAT) specialists to serve on the Commission’s VAT Expert Group. The VAT Expert Group advises the Commission on the preparation of legislative acts and other policy initiatives in the field of VAT. The new VAT Expert Group members will replace current members, whose term expires on September 30. The Commission is looking, in particular, for academics from universities and research institutes. Firms, businesses, and organizations representing business can also apply.
