Advancing the common consolidated corporate tax base (CCCTB) proposal in Europe is a “high priority,” for new Commissioner for Economic Affairs, Pierre Moscovici.
The CCCTB would shut off major channels of tax avoidance, ensuring a closer link between taxation and economic activity, Moscovici said in a speech addressing tax avoidance published November 13.
Moscovici also said he favored more information exchange and enhanced transparency for private tax rulings.
