US and UAE sign Model 1 FATCA IGA

The US Treasury Department has updated its FATCA website, reporting that the UAE  has signed a Model 1 intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the United States as of June 17.  The text of the agreement is available.

The countries, on June 10, 2014, agreed in substance to a Model 1 IGA.
