First Look: EU investigating Netherlands tax rulings granted to Nike for state aid violations

The European Commission today announced that it has opened in-depth investigations into tax rulings granted by the Netherlands to Nike subsidiaries to see if the Netherlands gave an unfair advantage to Nike in breach of State aid rules.

This latest Commission inquiry involves tax rulings effective 2006 through 2015 that endorse a method to calculate a royalty to be paid by Nike European Operations Netherlands and Converse Netherlands for the use of intellectual property.
