India and Slovenia sign protocol to tax treaty

India and Slovenia have signed a protocol to their tax treaty, agreeing to expand the scope of information exchange between tax authorities and to enable mutual assistance in the collection of taxes, India’s Commissioner of Income Tax, Meenakshi J Goswami, announced today.

The new agreement, signed in Ljubljana on May 17, will curb tax avoidance and tax evasion, Goswami said.
