Szubin to serve as US Treasury acting secretary

Adam Szubin will serve as Acting Secretary of the US Treasury effective immediately, Treasury announced in a statement today.

Szubin served as Acting Under Secretary of the Treasury in the Obama administration. He will leave government service once a new Secretary of the Treasury is  in place.

President Trump’s pick to lead the agency, Steve Mnuchin, is widely expected to be confirmed for the post.
