Luxembourg, Ukraine sign tax treaty protocol

Luxembourg and Ukraine have signed a protocol to their 1997 tax treaty, Ukraine’s Ministry of Finance announced on September 30.

The agreement is designed to prevent double taxation and also provides for the exchange of tax information consistent with OECD standards, the Ministry said.

Under the agreement, reduced rates of taxation are provided for dividends, interest, and royalties.

The protocol also sets procedures for the settlement of disputes.
