Japan, Russia negotiate tax treaty

Japan and Russia have begun negotiations to amend their tax treaty, Japan’s Ministry of Finance has announced. The first round of negotiations will take place today in Tokyo.

The amended treaty would modify the 1986 treaty between Japan and the Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

The negotiations will not affect the application the 1986 treaty to countries other than the Russian Federation.
