Australia consults on signing of BEPS multilateral instrument 

Australia Treasury has released a discussion paper seeking comments on whether the government should sign the The Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting.

The multilateral instrument allows countries to more easily amend their bilateral tax treaties to incorporates the tax treaty measures to combat tax avoidance in the OECD/G20 base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS) initiative.

Interested parties are invited to comment on the consultation paper by February 6, 2017.
