Asia-Pacific tax administrators form task force to address BEPS

Tax commissioners attending the annual Study Group on Asian Tax Administration and Research (SGATAR) meeting on November 27 agreed to form a permanent, ongoing, task force to collaborate on tax issues, including base erosion and profit shifting and tax transparency. The task force will relay its views to international forums.

SGATAR members will also use the task force to share best practice in taxation and to seek assistance on implementing tax initiatives such as exchange of information.

SGATAR members are Australia, Cambodia, People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Macao SAR, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, and Vietnam.
